Chapter XXII - Target Sequel

What had really happen now? Was she really in love with me? Or was it some kind of joke? There are many questions that must be answered. I had a bad feeling that love can be either painful or terribly ruined for her life or my own life.

“Brenda? What was that for?” I asked. As she looked at me, its as if she was really caring about me. “To tell you the truth, I really love you. And don’t take it as a joke either. I am very serious, Kevin.” I looked back at her and said, “Brenda, to tell you the truth as well, I too in love with you. I had a very special feeling about you too.” She then started kissing me again, but this time, she really wanted to make out then.

In the principal’s office, Principal Garcia was working on his paper works and turned on his radio. “Eh, talk about music radio, I’m going to turn on the television to see what’s going on right now.” He turned off his radio and turned on his television. “This is CNN Station live from New York. Today, we have reports that an armed experiment from the corporation had escaped from the bio-experiment lab chamber. Here we have a special guess, Dr. Lynn from System Corps.” “Thank you Diana for introducing me. Anyways, the experiment we were talking about is very serious dangerous from the scene. We had sent many of our soldiers to stop this bio-experiment, but he was too good for our soldiers and had killed more than ten dozens of our units.

“Please, people. We, the System Corps., are here to protect you citizens from the experiment. We evenly had guarded off every exits so then the bio-experiment would never escape the state.” Principal Garcia turned off his television. “Well, that was pathetic. Now another violence is going on in this state? That’s a load of bull! Guess I’m going have to inform the students that the school is being attacked again.”

In the northern main hallway, a person had walked into the school and the police had came by and stopped him. “Hey, you can’t enter the school area!” An unknown person had turned around, grabbed the police officer, and thrown him at the window lethally. Everyone heard a window crash and started screaming and panicking. As I heard the scream, I looked out of the window. Everyone started running out of the school. “Brenda, you must stay in here and hide. I don’t want you to get hurt.” Brenda stared at me. “No, Kevin! You mustn’t do this! I wanted you to be here with me alive! Please, don’t go and getting yourself killed!”

As I looked into her eyes, I kissed her lips. “I’m sorry, but I’m going have to.” I left Brenda behind and started running towards the person that had attacked the school. The person had pulled out his gun and started shooting at the police officers. They were shot in the head quickly and deadly. I quickly dodged the bullets and knocked out the person’s gun out of his hands. “Alright! Who are you and what are you doing here attacking the school for?” He tried to struggle and break free, but I held his arms very hard so he wouldn’t break free. “You want the truth? I’m a bio-experiment 154, but I wanted to be called as Brandon. I’m here in search of the System Corps’s bio-experiments, Project Hades.”

I looked at him and said, “What the hell is Project Hades and System Corps?” He reply, “I’ll tell you if you let-” I interrupted, “No chance. Tell me right now or-” Something broke into the school’s ceiling. A group of mercenaries carrying assault rifles. They started firing their rifles at everyone. I dragged the person behind the wall and started asking him. “Alright, what the hell is going on here? And you better act fast, because this gun can make a two-feet hole on the wall!” He looked at me and pulled out his other pistol. “I’ll tell you later, for now we need to get rid of these damn mercenaries or they will go after someone or kill me.” I turned my head around and the mercenaries looks like they are wearing steel-plated armor.

“Great, steel-armored mercenaries?” He nodded and I continued on. “What kind of damn mercenaries are these?!” As he loaded up his pistol, he spoke, “Special mercenaries are looking for someone. They are looking for this girl.” He showed me the picture. A picture…of Brenda. “What? My girlfriend? Why are they aftering her?” Several mercenaries came around and aimed the rifles at us, but I dived and shot them in the head. Their heads had exploded as the force of the bullet was very vast. As I saw Brenda right in front of the main door, which was locked, a dozen of the mercenaries were running towards to her, grabbed her, and had taken off by the helicopter. I ran towards to them, but they threw a grenade at me. I quickly sprint back and dived to take cover as the grenade had exploded.
As they flown away, they dropped a note. I grabbed it and read the note:

If you want to see your girl again, you might as well give yourself up and go towards to the System Corps genetic lab area. Otherwise, we will be using her as an experiment, Project Hades. Be here at 12:00 AM, June 12th.

June 12th…that’s three days from now. I looked at Brandon and started asking. “Okay, why are they taking her? What’s System Corps? And what the hell is Project Hades!?” He turned around and stared at me for a couple of seconds. “Look take it easy kid, I know that they took your girl, but I’m here to help you then. I’ll tell you all the information you’ll needed when we get back to my place.” My cell phone had rang and I picked it up. “Hello?” It was my mother that had called.

Mandy: Death, are you okay? On the news, it says that your school was under attack.
Me: Yeah, but I’m fine right now.
Mandy: I want you to be home right now, Death.
Me: I can’t I have important things to do now.
Mandy: Death, you need to get home now, I don’t want to see things happening to you.
Me: Sorry, I have to rescue somebody, a friend of mine…a girlfriend.
Mandy: Death, just let the police-
Me: They are not going to do anything about it. I have another friend of mine that is going to help me to get her back. Give me three days.
Mandy: We’re going to leave in two days though, Death. If you want to rescue your girlfriend, we’ll stay for three days then.

She hung up.
